About The Role:
In this role, you will be part of a highly collaborative team delivering research and evaluation to the public realm, tackling key public policy challenges. You will independently lead small to medium-scale projects and manage larger scale/complex projects. This will include ensuring the timely delivery of projects on budget. Other elements of the role will include proposal writing, designing research approaches and tools, facilitation of interviews and focus groups, management of fieldwork suppliers, data analysis (of primary and secondary data, quantitative and qualitative), and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Winning work
- Writes simple proposals and contribute to larger proposals. Including actively supporting research design, with guidance from senior staff.
- Ensures competitive quotes are received from suppliers and prepare full draft pricing sheets including research hours and suggested pricing for clients.
Managing projects
- Monitors and maintains awareness of team against project schedule, ensuring quality standards and procedures are being followed and compliant with applicable industry standards and market research guidelines.
- Monitors project budgets and actively look for ways to minimise costs.
- Keeps clients and Project Leads informed of the project’s progress against schedule.
- Manages suppliers throughout project.
- Independently develops questionnaires and discussion guides.
- Secondary data analysis including literature scans.
Analysis and reporting
- Independently prepares full reports for simple projects you lead on, including analysis and conclusions, supporting the creation of insights and strategy.
- Creates and delivers concise and engaging presentations demonstrating insight against client objectives.
- Ensures accuracy and quality control in data extraction and presentation, including precise transfer of information from source data to client deliverables.
- Presents and communicates data clearly and effectively, focusing on ensuring that complex information is accessible and meaningful to audiences.
- Follows Verian reporting protocols and branding protocols.
Managing client relationships
- Liaises with clients on a day-to-day basis to develop strong relationships.
- Actively manages client’s expectations and implications regarding costs, timing, etc.
- Proactively anticipates project changes and communicates changes effectively to clients.
Staff Development
- Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Supports professional growth through coaching, knowledge sharing and on the job instruction.
- Delivers constructive feedback to foster skills development.
About You:
- Ability to independently run all facets of a simple research or evaluation project
- 3-5 years’ experience in the research and consulting industry - whether that be agency, client-side or in academia - with experience specifically in social research or evaluation
- Strong competency in quantitative data analysis using statistical tools and software applications including Q and/or SPSS
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical concepts including statistical significance and its implications for research findings, margin of error and its impact on data confidence
- Strong written communication skills with ability to create professional reports and presentations
- Competent collaborative capabilities including interpersonal skills for effective team coordination
