The role
Our Evidence team is looking for a graduate with a curious and analytical approach and who is interested in both research and social/political issues. This 6-month trainee traineeship will immerse you in the full research cycle, from project design to data collection and reporting. You’ll gain valuable hand on experience and contribute to impactful research that drives public policy and decision making.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project management; including collaborating closely with suppliers, partners, team members and clients.
- Support the development of data collection tools (e.g. questionnaires, discussion guides, mapping templates).
- Help with daily project tasks, including preparing country reports, checking report accuracy, verifying survey scripts, and making initial inputs to reports or PowerPoint presentations.
- Undertaking data collection; including case studies, desk research
- Assist with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Contribute to the drafting of reports
- Support business development by contributing to tender writing under supervision
Requirements
- Hold a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., social science, social psychology, anthropology, sociology, statistics, or data science).
- Be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an advantage.
- Have a foundational understanding of, or experience with, survey and research methods.
- Experience with R, SPSS, or other statistical data processing software is a plus.
- Prior involvement in school boards, student associations, or similar extracurricular activities would be beneficial.
- An interest in public opinion research and a willingness to contribute to short publications would be an asset.
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Show initiative, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate a proactive approach.
- Be detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Be solution-driven and capable of handling challenges in a structured manner.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing and engaging personality.
- Have the unlimited right to work in the EU (not tied to student status or study duration).
