Based in the heart of Brussels, our team in Belgium is dedicated to delivering high-quality research and consultancy in areas such as public policy, behavioural insights, and election research. Our clients include the European institutions, national governments, and international organisations like the World Bank and the UN. Our work focuses on:

  • Policy development and evaluation to support clients across the policy cycle, from needs assessment through to programme evaluation.
  • Policy implementation to ensure that EU policies and initiatives are translated into effective actions, and provide our clients with technical support, insights, and network development.
  • Behavioural insights and communications to undertake targeted and effective interventions and communications.
  • Data and evidence from large scale multi-country public opinion surveys, such as the standard Eurobarometer.

The role


We are offering a sixmonth traineeship focusing on regulatory policy in a dynamic, international environment within a leading organisation. As a trainee, you will work closely with the policy development and evaluation team, gaining handson experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. You will support policy studies and contribute to the application of betterregulation methods across digital, consumer, and internal market policy areas.

 

 

Key Tasks

  • Supporting the delivery of policy research studies, including liaising with suppliers, team members and clients.
  • Conducting research using different qualitative and quantitative methodologies. This includes contributing to desk research, surveys, interviews.
  • Drafting reports.
  • Contributing to writing proposals.

 

Requirements
We are looking for a graduate with a curious and analytical mindset, who is passionate about policy research and eager to learn how to apply betterregulation methods. For this role, you will need to:

  • Have a Master’s degree.
  • Have a genuine interest in public policies and the European Union
  • Be fluent in English, both written and spoken – fluency in another European language is an additional asset.
  • Know how to use different qualitative and/ or quantitative research methods.
  • Be at ease with reporting tools and formatting on the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Be comfortable working both in a team and independently.
  • Show initiative, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate a proactive approach.
  • Be solution-driven and capable of handling challenges in a structured manner.
  • Be detail-oriented and well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Have the unlimited right to work in the EU (not tied to student status or study duration).
