The role sits within Verian’s central Information Security function working closely with IT, Compliance, external service providers, and delivery teams across our global markets.

About the Role

This is a Senior, hands‑on role and an integral part to the running and stabilising day‑to‑day security operations at Verian.

Critically the role will ensure that security controls operate as intended in practice, incidents and vulnerabilities are managed calmly and effectively, and that audit and contractual security obligations are met. A high level of coordination is essential as you will be working across internal teams and third‑party providers, and playing a key part in reducing operational security demand on senior leaders.

What You'll Do

• Own the coordination of information security incidents, working with external SOC and IT service providers and escalating to the CISO where judgement or external reporting is required
• Proactively verify control effectiveness (e.g. exposure, configuration, logging, retention) and drive remediation through delivery teams
• Run vulnerability and threat management, ensuring timely remediation, clear exception handling, and meaningful reporting
• Coordinate and support a network of Security Champions across Verian’s global markets, enabling consistent and practical application of security expectations
• Lead operational delivery of Cyber Essentials Plus, and support markets during ISO 27001 audits, ensuring controls operate as business‑as‑usual
• Support projects and client delivery by embedding proportionate security requirements early and validating contractual conformity

What You'll Bring

• Strong hands‑on experience in information security operations within regulated or audit‑driven environments
• Proven ability to coordinate incidents, remediation and follow‑through across multiple teams and suppliers
• Confidence working with modern security tooling (e.g. SIEM/SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, identity and cloud security)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain risk and required actions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Strong influencing & collaboration skills, including working effectively across stakeholders
• A calm, structured approach when operating under pressure

A Bonus If

• Experience working across multiple countries or distributed organisations
• Hands‑on involvement with Cyber Essentials Plus or ISO 27001 audits
• Experience supporting or enabling AI adoption from a security or risk perspective
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks, NCSC CAF or ITIL
